Colleen has a lifetime of experience with horses.
Growing up on a cattle ranch in Northern California, she graduated to open jumpers in the 60's. Three Day Eventing in the 70's and 80's. Colleen was chosen to compete on the California team in Red Deer, Canada for the Pacific North West Championships. She won the individual 2nd place and the team won 1st place over 30 competing teams.
Realizing that the foundation for all riding is dressage, Colleen has spent the last 30 years learning and studying with the best classical and competitive riders and trainers.
Instructor for the United States Pony Club for over 10 years in Northern California.
Colleen has been teaching and training for over 40 years. She knew if she could help the rider learn better communication skills the horse would get better. Steeped in kindness, patience and determination Colleen can bring out the best in both horse and rider.
Colleen shows FEI Dressage in Northern California, in very competitive venues and Judges, as well as locally in Southeastern Arizona. She is currently preparing for her USDF Gold medal.
She also shows Working Equitation and is a member of Arizona Working Equitation Club.
Colleen is also a Certified Professional trainer for Western Dressage Association of America.
Colleen and her husband Jean have a private training facility in St. David, Az. Together they share the same philosophy to help riders to become better horseman. They work together to insure that the horses are thriving and content.
